Classroom Support
For the 2025-2026 School Year
SCHOOLS : All locations. Successful applicants to the list(s) are able to indicate which schools they are willing to accept assignments.
SCHEDULE : On call basis. No guarantee of hours. Dependent on school needs. For the current school year only.
EDUCATION: Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent; post secondary education in a related field including but not limited to Autism or Behaviour Science Courses/Program; Educational Assistant Courses/Program; Early Learning Courses/Program; Teaching Program
SUMMARY : Assist the teacher, educational support personnel and early childhood educators in the classroom to help maintain a safe, caring and respectful learning environment. Follow lesson plans and/or instructions provided to you by the classroom teacher or other classroom staff. Provide supervision as assigned by the school Administrator.
QUALIFICATIONS :
- Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent
- Post secondary education in a related field
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Experience in a classroom setting or similar environment
- Ability and willingness to perform physical tasks and assist with personal care when required
- Ability to remain calm and non confrontational under pressure
- Current BMS Training Certificate would be an asset
- Current First Aid Certificate would be an asset
