NAC is currently seeking an Electrical Engineering Coordinator, to join our team at our ROPEC Electrical Reliability project in Ottawa, Ontario.

Reporting to the Project Manager, the successful candidate will interact with project site teams on a regular basis.  The ideal candidate will display strong knowledge in electrical processes and standards, and a demonstrated proven ability to coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors.

Job Description

    • Assist with electrical coordination for all aspects of the project.
    • Incorporate addendums, RFI’s, CRX’s etc. into drawings and specifications as required.
    • Review of estimate and project scope to provide bill of material and project Equipment Control Logs.
    • Aid in the technical review of submittal and workplace planning.
    • Assist in project change management tasks such as reviewing scope change and prepare Bill of materials complete with costs.
    • Prepare electrical and commissioning schedule data for integration to overall project schedules.
    • Be knowledgeable in all facets of the electrical start up and commissioning activities   (i.e. Scope, drawings, specifications, planning, expediting, resource scheduling).
    • Support the projects' team with the creation of RFI’s and see the process through to completion.
    • Communicate ideas for improving company processes with a positive and constructive attitude.
    • Prepare job status reports and other reports as required for reporting to senior management.
    • Obtain field experience for career growth by assisting trade superintendents and project management in the project field, as required.
    • Knowledge and understanding of NAC’s Health, Safety, and Environmental policies and procedures as per the roles and responsibilities within the HSE Manual. 

Requirements

    • Detailed understanding of electrical drawings, codes, and standards.
    • Detailed understanding of process integration and communication controls.
    • Ability to coordinate various electrical subcontractor and participate in work sequencing plans.
    • Strong construction electrical/instrumentation/commissioning background.
    • Proficient with drawings and specifications.
    • Ability to procure materials and track costs.
    • Strong administrative and communication skills.
    • Must be accurate and detail oriented.
    • Knowledge in motor control, fire alarm, HVAC and PLCs.
