They conduct road tests and on-road observations, support licence upgrades, and assist with safety meetings and incident investigations as needed.   Responsibilities: In the position of Safety Driver Trainer, the responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Training of new employees in the use of Miller Waste trucks and equipment as well as retraining/upgrading skills of current staff. Train and monitor the progress of Assistant Driver Trainers to ensure new workers receive the applicable practical skills for success. Required to conduct road tests and driver evaluations. Advise management on safety policies and procedures as well as conduct licence upgrades and renewals. Prepare and present monthly safety meetings at various locations throughout the assigned divisions, in conjunction with the local Operation Managers. Ensure training files are kept up-to-date and current. Facilitate and participate in Joint Health & Safety Committees. Conduct on-road observations and inspections. Assist in the investigation of worker injuries, motor vehicle collisions and other incidents if required. Assist other Driver Trainers as required.   Competencies & Qualifications: Successful candidates will have, as a minimum, a valid DZ Driver’s Licence and a clean driving record. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate on various levels (verbal and written). Good organizational skills and technologically competent including the use of smartphones, tablets, computers in addition to use of Microsoft applications including excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, etc. A Certified Commercial Driver Trainer Certificate and Air Brakes Instructor Certification would be an asset. The successful candidate must obtain signing authority through the MTO. You must have thorough knowledge of the Highway Traffic Act.
