Position Details

• Role: Hybrid Veterinary Receptionist/Veterinary Assistant
• Status: Full-time
• Salary: Negotiable and based on experience
• Schedule: Four-day workweeks. Rotating Saturday shifts (9 am - 2 pm). The shifts will be a mixture of assistant and reception as per the clinic's needs.

Valley Veterinary Clinic is looking for a full-time Veterinary Assistant/Receptionist to join our small animal general practice in the vibrant, growing town of Carleton Place! Our receptionists are the friendly faces our clients rely on to answer their questions, book their appointments, and greet them when they come in for care. Our ideal candidate will have a passion not just for furry friends, but for helping the people who love them.

What You’ll Do

• Answering phones, booking appointments, and answering client inquiries
• Checking clients in for appointments, and maintaining flow from check-in to check-out
• Assisting RVTs and DVMs as needed (prepping for surgery, assisting with treatments, etc.)
• Unpacking and receiving the daily order, and calling clients to inform them their food and medications are ready for pick-up
• Cleaning and care of surgical instruments and the surgical suite
• General cleaning and upkeep of the clinic

We are looking for a candidate with at least 1 year of experience in a veterinary clinic, with preference given to applicants who have completed a veterinary assistant certification. Experience with Avimark is preferred but not required.
