Our Rona team is seeking a Driver for its Arnprior location. The successful candidate will be a self-directed and motivated collaborator who can work independently.

General Accountabilities


As a Truck Driver at RONA, you will be responsible for the safety delivery of building materials and home improvement products to customers, job sites, and other RONA locations.  This position requires a customer-focused attitude, a strong sense of responsibility, and adherence to all safety and transportation regulations.


Specific Accountabilities


  • Work in an environment whereby the employee is involved in and committed to the success of the organization, and which contributes to health and safety in an accident-free workplace.
  • Safely operate a RONA delivery truck to transport products to residential and commercial locations.
  • Load and unload materials using proper handling techniques (may include use of forklift or truck-mounted crane).
  • Perform daily vehicle inspections and report any maintenance needs.
  • Follow delivery schedules and routes as provided by dispatch.
  • Ensure accuracy of delivered materials with accompanying paperwork.
  • Provide professional and courteous customer service during deliveries.
  • Comply with all company, provincial, and federal transportation regulations


Skills and Knowledge


Success in this role will Include (but not be limited to) knowledge of building materials and experience in a retail yard. Ability to drive, load/unload trucks, lifts, etc.  Ability to operate all required equipment and vehicles. Construction experience would also be an asset.

Education/Experience


  • Valid Class 3 or Class 1 driver’s license (depending on truck size/region).
  • Clean Driver’s Abstract.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of truck driving experience (preferably in a retail or construction environment).
  • Ability to operate material handling equipment (e.g. forklift, boom truck) – certification an asset.
  • Strong customer service skills and professional appearance.
  • Good physical condition, able to lift 50+ lbs.
  • Knowledge of local area and ability to follow GPS/route maps.
