Your New Role:

 

The IT Co-op/Summer Student - Computer Technician provides front-line technical support to office staff and construction project teams across corporate offices and active job sites.  This role involves hands-on troubleshooting of computer hardware, software, and mobile technology, as well as coordinating escalated support with internal IT staff and third-party vendors as required.

 

The successful candidate will gain practical experience supporting technology in a fast-paced construction environment, including office systems, field devices, and job-site connectivity.

 

This is a term position (May to August 2026) based out of Arnprior, ON office. The expected hourly pay rate for this position is $19.00 - $30.00.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

 

While the IT Co-op/Summer Student - Computer Technician - is responsible for a multitude of duties, main elements include but are not limited to:

 

  • Provide Tier 1 on-site and remote technical support for end users at corporate offices and construction sites.
  • Troubleshoot computer hardware and software issues (desktops, laptops, mobile devices; Windows, macOS, Microsoft 365, and Adobe).
  • Receive, respond to, prioritize, track and document IT service requests and incidents.
  • Provide timely follow-up and status updates to users on reported issues.
  • Configure, deploy, document, upgrade, repair, and decommission desktop and laptop hardware in accordance with standard operating procedures.
  • Support and maintain meeting room and presentation technology, including assisting users with setup and teardown.
  • Assist with basic network troubleshooting, including client connectivity and fundamental TCP/IP issues.
  • Support server-and cloud-based applications at a basic operational level.
  • Assist in monitoring system performance indicators to help ensure efficient and reliable operation.
  • Coordinate with vendors and senior IT staff for escalated issues when required.

 

Preferred Experience and qualifications:



  • Enrolled in or recently completed a college diploma or university degree in Computer Technology, Information Technology, or a related program (Co-op placement is preferred).
  • Previous experience in a technology-related role, internship, or academic lab environment is an asset.

 

Health, Safety, and Environmental:

  • Adheres to all health, safety, and environmental processes and procedures and regulatory compliance.
  • Communicates and enforces safety standards in conjunction with the Construction Health, Safety, and Environmental Officer.

Quality:

  • Adheres to all processes and procedures in the Sullivan Integrated Management System (S-IMS).
  • Ensures the quality of produced efforts reflects the Sullivan quality standards core values.

 

Desirable personal attributes:

 

  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically and work independently.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced, technology driven environment.
  • Professional, composed, and discreet manner when dealing with users and sensitive information.
  • Valid driver’s license in good standing and access to reliable transportation for travel between offices and job sites.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Level II Secret government clearance.

 

Travel requirements:

 

Travel to and from office and to Sullivan job sites as required.
